World Elite’s visa rejected, may be replaced by aAa at Hannover.
Another group shakeup at Hannover is likely to happen soon. French gaming news site eSportsFrance is reporting that Chinese team World Elite also had their visa application rejected for unknown reasons, which will certainly preclude them from flying to Germany for the IEM World Championships. This comes on the heels of fellow Chinese team Invictus Gaming also failing to receive a visa. iG was also unable to obtain visas in time to attend IEM Kiev, so this marks the third straight time that a Chinese LoL team has been refused travel visas.
German team ALTERNATE is taking iG’s spot in Group A, which means that French team Against All Authority is next in line for an open spot. ESL World has responded to the news, restating that World Elite had visa trouble but still have a chance to attend if they can confirm within 24 hours that they can make it. Otherwise, Group A will be devoid of Asian teams and eHOME will be the only remaining Asian team in the championships. If eHOME also falls to the same visa troubles as their compatriots, American team v8 eSports will be invited to fill their spot on the basis of IEM circuit points.
