Q) How do you feel after winning the first set?

Shy : I thought we would be able to take easy victory of 3:1. But I threw the fourth game and the set dragged on. I really didn’t know what to say. I am really glad that we were able to pull ourselves together and win the fifth match. I hope we will be able to take easier victory on the second set.

MadLife : I feel the same. I think we got overconfident after pushing to the 3 inhibitors. Because of that, everyone was mentally suffering after the fourth match, but I think we were able to win the last match because we held on desperately.

Q) Did you plan on picking Blitzcrank on the last match no matter what?

MadLife : In all blind pick matches, we pick the champions that we had highest win ratio with. Today I picked Blitzcrank because we have been getting good results with him and I was able to land good grabs throughout the set. I hope this would attract more ban directed at my Blitzcrank in future games.

Q) How did you guys practice without being able to scrim against Blaze?

Shy : We usually scrimmed against Chinese teams. We tried many different compositions and I think they worked out nicely.

Q) How were you able to pull yourself together after the fourth game?

Shy : Our manager came in to encourage us on playing better games. As well as Woong hyung helping us feel better.

MadLife: After losing the fourth game, I was wondering, “is this how we’re going to lose?” I mean, we made many comebacks ourselves, but almost never had any teams coming back on us. I felt as if we found out about Blaze’s hidden strength and disappointed in our own plays. However Hyun-Woo(CloudTemplar) hyung and Gun-Woong hyung really helped us recover from our mistakes and encouraged us. That’s why we were able to win the fifth match.

Q) To Madlife : You are now in the first place MVP point wise with the two Blitzcrank games. How do you feel?

MadLife : Even if I did receive the first place in the MVP ranking, I would be happier when my team wins. To me, I feel like all Azubu team members are MVPs.

Q) To MadLife : You got multiple kills in the last game. As a support, did you do it on purpose or unintentionally.

MadLife : In the late game, it would be easier to give kills to the carries because they exceed support’s damage. However during the early game, there is a chance that when I’m waiting for carries to take the kills, the opponents can get away. I remember in the last Summer season finals, Krepo tried to let Yellowpete kill me but I got away due to the mistake. I try to not make the same mistake and it leads to clean kills like that.

Q) What’s the secret behind 100% win rate of blind pick?

Shy : Give HyunWoo hyung his Shen, and let MinGi(Madlife) play his blitz!

MadLife : “If we lose this one, it’s the end.” I think this mentality helped us carry through. Also, the fact that it’s a blind pick gives my team a boost in confidence. That’s probably why we are able to keep our 100% win ratio.

Q) If you guys win one more set, it’s the finals. Are you planning any strategies for the upcoming games?

Shy : As of now, we don’t have any. But I think we can put up some more while we practice. Even in previous matches, there are many cases where we just thought of a plan while watching games and applied instantly to our games. It had good results but we’ll see about this on Friday.

Q) What’s your goal of the year?

Shy : S3 Champions. In season 2, I didn’t feel disappointed but it was really close. It stayed in my memory.

MadLife : I would rather hope for a future where my team will be recognized and renowned for our skills.

Q) Any comments to teammates that are not here?

MadLife : GunWoong hyung thinks of many smart strategies. It really affects our in game team composition. Also because he’s so good at pick/ban planning, we are able to win many of our games. Even for these games, GunWoong hyung thought of all the pick/ban scenarios. He’s also great at the game. He has things that I don’t have.

I’m also envious of MinSung’s(RapidStar) talents. Personally, I believe that RapidStar has more possibilities than Ambition. Also HyunWoo hyung helps us get our minds together inside the gaming booths. I’m really thankful for that. I’m also envious of SangMyun’s(Shy) ability to improve so quickly when he has such small experience in the scene compared to other top players.

Shy : At first when i joined the team, I thought the best player was GunWoong and ChanYong(Ambition). But it changed recently. I really think that the best gamer right now is HyunWoo hyung. He has skills, mindset, and leadership altogether. I’m really thankful that he is in the team. MinSung is like a mischievous kid that goes around everywhere, but I think it’s really good to see that he listens to me when I talk and he tries really hard himself. This guy is already good with midlane, and if he tries hard enough, I think he has the potential to become the best.

Q) CloudTemplar picked up Lee Sin but it didn’t go so well. How did you guys practice?

MadLife : The Chinese teams that we played against really thought greatly of Lee Sin pick. So we thought that CloudTemplar hyung would be able to do it too. He had great results in the scrims so we thought about using him in the tournament. We expected Blaze to feel surprised but they reacted really properly. I don’t think it’s because CloudTemplar hyung didn’t play well, it’s just that Blaze responded well.

Q) To MadLife : How do you feel when the fans cheer “MaMen”?

MadLife : When fans cheer me and praise me like that, I feel like I will have to play better to satisfy them. So I purposely try to avoid those comments. Also the thing I realized in these matches is that overconfidence is my biggest enemy. I always try to think of myself as a worse support player than others in order to get better.

Q) Any last words?

MadLife : I thank my coach and manger for always taking care of us. I’m also thankful to Blaze members for playing these great games with us. Also Azubu fans, officers, and Razer.
