Korean Qualifiers for IPL5 on GOMTV

GOMTV made an announcement this morning regarding the Korean regional qualifiers for IGN ProLeague Season 5 (IPL5), which will be held in Las Vegas from 11/29 through 12/2. The Korean regional qualifier will showcase 8 of the top teams in Korea, and take place over two weeks beginning on October 21st. Matches will be played every Sunday and Monday at 8am EST. The qualifiers will have two stages, starting with a round of 8 group stage. Teams will be split into two groups of four and compete in a double elimination setting. The top four teams will then continue to the best of 3 semifinal matches, leading to a best of 5 final match. Tiebreakers for the semifinal and final rounds will be played in Blind Pick. The teams competing to represent Korea are: Azubu Blaze, NaJin Shield, Xenics Storm, CJ Entus in Group A and Azubu Frost, LG-IM, NaJin Sword, MVP-White in Group B.
“Teams will be competing for a total prize pool of $100,000.”
The winning team will earn round-trip flights to Las Vegas, stay at the Cosmopolitan Hotel, and the chance to represent Korea globally at IPL5. The competition will be fierce, as the confirmed list of teams already includes Season 2 World Champions Taipei Assassins, Season 2 World Championship attendees Team SoloMid, Counter Logic Gaming EU, Moscow 5, along with Team Dynamic, Team Curse, Meat Playground, Team ALTERNATE, Team Curse EU, Team World Elite, Singapore Sentinals, and iCeland. Although Season 2 ended not long ago, teams will battle to be the best in the world once again at IPL5.
