ggChronicle Power Ranking: Season Two World Championship

ggChronicle provides Worldwide Power Rankings on a periodic basis, typically after the conclusion of major tournaments. Make sure to follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook to get the latest League of Legends eSports updates!
In the annals of eSports, 2012 will be remembered as the year of League of Legends. Professional players and their fans rode the rocket from obscurity to the Season Two World Championship, an event destined to shatter streaming records.
Twelve months ago, LoL launched in China and had yet to be released in Korea, two of the largest eSports markets on the planet. Western teams found themselves on the side stages at events like IEM, MLG, and IPL, overshadowed by the titanic Wings of Liberty. In stark contrast, over the next two weeks thousands of fans will flood some of the biggest venues in Los Angeles to cheer their hearts out.
The audience will simmer with gasps of excitement and roar with shouts of pleasure as ganks hit lanes and nexus crystals shatter into a thousand fragments. The world will watch as players shed tears when they realize their dreams, and many more will hang their heads in defeat. When the dust settles, only one team will remain with a million dollar check in their hands.
Legends will be made in October.
As the capstone to ggC’s preview coverage, we bring you aggregated predictions from some of the most notable casters and personalities in League of Legends. We decided to use our Power Ranking system to rate the teams, meaning that each contributor received 100 points to allocate amongst the contenders. Each team’s points, out of a possible 2600, is listed alongside the percentage of total points they received.
You will find links to our preview articles with each prediction, so please click to learn much more about the teams. Our preview series totaled 33,190 words, which equals approximately 83 pages in standard novel formatting. We are proud to give LoL fans one of the largest, most comprehensive article series ever written in eSports.

Taipei Assassins are the worst team in the tournament, with the Jokers right on their heels. I would bet all my possessions that they don’t win a game in the quarters.
TPA worst team in the tournament? You obviously don’t follow them when you make an ignorant comment like that. How can they be the worst team when the Jokers have never taken a game from TPA? TPA dominates the GPL with a 30-2 record compared to the Joker’s 17-15 record. I’ll take that bet, and all your belongings too.
imo Jokers are worse than TPA. But neither of them will make it past quarters.
Ha ha ha, I hope you really did bet all your possessions David.
I feel as though, while ranking the teams based on raw skill might give us a pretty fair judge of any given team’s talent, will be less predictive than it should be due to the best of one group round robin format with regional passes. For instance here’s a scenario: depending on how the regional winners get paired off, a team less favored to win such as TSM or CLG.EU could end up playing WE in the quarters while M5 could have to face off against Frost in the quarters (much more likely). Which would mean that potentially one of the top 2 could be out early, then you could end up with CLG.EU vs the remaining favorite. Assuming CLG loses, then 2 of the 3 top “power rankings” would be out by the end of the semis. So much of this tournament is up to the way the brackets shake out. My prediction is that some of the quarter- and semi- matches will be more interesting than the finals. I hope not, since I have tickets for the finals, but that’s my guess.
I want WE to win but idk with their new roster …
Give me your possessions, David. Oh, your mom too.
ha funny tpa worst team of the tournament, funny thing is that they won this tournament lol
